Involved are checking SAGE, BIP+, OCLC, and other bibliographic tools. Also, it involves establishing the correct bibliographic entries for a piece. Beginning with 1992, new binding, new receipts, and new titles are not noted on the Serial Record.SERIAL SET Special edition of United States Senate and House journals, reports and documents, grouped in series and numbered consecutively, which Congress orders printed after each congressional session.SERIALS SECTION Section of ACQUISITIONS SERVICES which handles most aspects of acquiring periodicals and serials other than Colorado state and U.S. Government titles. This department encumbers orders, approves invoices, maintains SAGE files of receipt of issues or volumes, claims items not received, and prepares periodical issues for shelving. Located in suite 210, MORGAN LIBRARY, second floor, west wing.SERIES Number of separate works issued in succession and usually related to one another in subject or form and issued by the same publisher in a uniform style. Collective title applying to the group as a whole may appear somewhere on the PIECE. The individual items may or may not be numbered.SERIES AUTHORITY FILE (SAF) Largely replaced by the online AUTHORITY FILE, this continues to be used for older series. Record of proper forms for series to keep the entries uniform. Also gives information as to whether or not to trace a series, i.e. make added entry in the catalog. File is located in the BIBLIOGRAPHIC CONTROL AND ELECTRONIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT.SERIES AUTHORITY RECORD WORKSHEET Form used for various stages of establishing and/or upgrading a series according to AACR2 cataloging code.SERIES TITLE PAGE An added title page bearing the series title proper and usually, though not necessarily, other information about the series (e.g., statement of responsibility, numeric designation, data relating to publication, title of the item within the series).SERVICE POINTS Areas in the library where PATRON assistance my be obtained: LOAN/RESERVE DESK, REFERENCE DESK, JOURNAL ROOM (includes MICROTEXT, NEWSPAPERS, INTERLIBRARY LOAN, and UNIVERSITY ARCHIVES.SET Work complete in two or more volumes.
