JOBBER
A VENDOR, who stocks a wide range of items. Use of jobbers reduces the workload in the ACQUISITIONS SERVICES because a large number of items from different publishers may be purchased from one source.
JOINT AUTHOR
Person who collaborates with one or more associates to produce a work in which the contributions of each is not separable from that of the others.
JOINT SERVICES
A bi-weekly  meeting of the Libraries coordinators and division heads.  The Assistant Deans for PUBLIC SERVICES, TECHNICAL SERVICES and ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES serve as co-chairs.
JOURNAL
Periodical issued by an institution, corporation, or learned society, containing current news and reports of activities and work in a particular field. Sometimes used interchangeably with the term "magazine".
JOURNAL ROOM
Houses current journals, magazines, NEWSPAPERS, and MICROTEXT.  Located in MORGAN LIBRARY, 2nd floor, west wing.
JSTOR
Journal STORage product committed to converting the entire runs of titles selected to provide electronic archives for each title.  A proprietary package of electronic journals with full image (includes text, pictures, figures and charts) of scholarly journals in the humanities and social sciences, and mathematics.  Current issues are not included; coverage generally beings with issues 3 to 5 years old.
