Library-IT Task Force
and
Faculty Council Committee on Libraries

Background Materials

In a memo dated May 30, 2008, Senior Executive Vice President/Provost Tony Frank formed a task force to evaluate the status of our Library and in particular whether it would be beneficial to consolidate some Library functions with central Information Technology functions. Vice Provost for Graduate Affairs Peter Dorhout was appointed as the chair of the Library-IT Task Force, with an additional eight members from various areas of the campus. That task force has now been presented with a formal charge to produce recommendations by April 15, 2009. The Library has assembled some background materials for the Task Force, and will be assembling additional materials at the request of the Task Force. This web page is intended to serve as a resource for that activity, for the Faculty Council Committee on Libraries, and for those interested in those activities.
