Building a 21st Century Research Library

Catherine Murray-Rust, Dean of University Libraries

Catherine Murray-Rust

University Libraries connects the Colorado State University campus and the greater Colorado community to information and knowledge critical for research and learning. Through collections, we provide faculty and students with opportunities to develop projects and make important discoveries. In short, our mission is to inspire ideas.

The Libraries current strategic plan, which aligns with the University’s plan, is designed to create a research library at CSU that meets the needs of a 21st century university. Fresh approaches, new technological tools, and new services are required to meet emerging user needs to advance the ways knowledge to be shared and stored.

A major goal of the Libraries strategic plan is to improve collections and services needed by different segments of the user community and the Libraries organizational structure reflects our strategic plan priorities.

We are also in the midst of an ambitious project to realize a new interior vision for Morgan Library that will maximize the space to meet the study needs of students, faculty, and staff.

I would like to invite you to read our 2007 accomplishments, our current strategic plan, explore the initiatives of our divisions, and discover the new vision for Morgan Library as we strive to support the academic and research pursuits of Colorado State University and beyond.
